Transforming Historic Hospital Campus into Vibrant Affordable Housing Community
Hudson, in partnership with St. Nick’s Alliance and Project Renewal, was designated by HPD to redevelop the Greenpoint Hospital Campus in the East Williamsburg neighborhood in Brooklyn. Unoccupied since 1982, the team will transform the historic hospital campus into a new mixed-use development including the adaptive reuse of two hospital buildings and two new construction buildings. The housing will serve extremely low-income and very-low income residents and seniors. A new homeless shelter will be situated in one of the historic buildings and will serve 200 New Yorkers experiencing homelessness. A network of new open spaces, a cafe, community facility space, and a workforce development center will also be created to connect the campus to the surrounding neighborhood.
