The First Phase of a New Community in Spring Creek, Brooklyn
Hudson, in partnership with CAMBA Housing Ventures and Related Retail LP, developed 197 new apartments across four buildings in the first phase of the Gateway Elton Street Community. Forty of these new homes were set aside for residents transitioning to independent living from institutions operated by the NYS Office of Mental Health; the remaining apartments are available exclusively to households earning less than 60% AMI. Gateway Phase I is a shining example of energy efficiency in affordable housing. Residents benefit not only from new modern housing, but also a new community complete with ground floor retail and community space. The development was financed through HDC’s LAMP funding, City Capital and Low Income Housing Tax Credits from HPD, Bank of America and NYSERDA.
