A Garden Apartment Community with Community Retail
Bergen Gardens is comprised of 144 residential units in six low-rise buildings that occupy an entire block. Roughly half of the units face the street with private home garages and the remaining units face a beautifully landscaped courtyard. Originally built in two phases by the same developer, Bergen Gardens had been occupied for over a decade when Hudson acquired the asset in June 2016. Recognizing the quality of the already stabilized asset, Hudson’s value-add strategy involves developing a 5,000 square foot retail store on a portion of the oversized parking lot facing Ralph Avenue, capital improvements to common areas and select interior renovations.
