Preserving the Affordability of 550 Units Across Brooklyn
Hudson, in partnership with BEC New Communities, is rehabilitating and preserving the affordability of 550 units of housing across 43 buildings throughout the Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights neighborhoods of Brooklyn. The units are located primarily throughout Bed-Stuy, Clinton Hill and Crown Heights and are affordable to families earning less than 60% of AMI. The improvements are wide ranging and include new kitchens and bathrooms for all residences, as well as general upgrades to building systems including new boilers, roofs and windows. Upon completion of the two-year construction period, the affordability of these homes will be guaranteed for 35 years. BEC Phase II was financed through HDC tax-exempt bonds, LIHTC, and HPD city capital.
