A Part of a Larger Whole: Workforce Housing in Clinton Hill
Athena North | South are two new 100% affordable rental buildings in Clinton Hill built as part of the redevelopment of the Brooklyn Heights branch of the Brooklyn Public Library. The buildings, both located in Brooklyn Community Board 2, the same CB as the Brooklyn Heights branch, feature a total of 114 apartments affordable to households earning between 60 and 130% of AMI. The affordability of these units is ensured through a regulatory agreement with HPD but without any subsidy financing. Hudson partnered with the non-profit, IMPACCT, to market and lease up the apartments through an official NYC lottery. Athena North | South are crucial to the development of One Clinton, the condominium component of the library redevelopment, which could not be occupied by residents until these properties were approved for occupancy in January 2020.
