BEC I

Various locations, Brooklyn, NY

Closed in October 2015, BEC I is the first phase of an affordable housing preservation project that Hudson is pursuing in partnership with BEC New Communities. The first phase of the partnership will see 212 units across 13 buildings rehabilitated and preserved as affordable housing.

The 13 buildings in the BEC I portfolio are spread throughout the Bed-Stuy and Crown Heights neighborhoods of Brooklyn. These units, which are occupied today, will be preserved as affordable housing for New York families for at least the next thirty years. A portion of the units are also set aside for formerly homeless New Yorkers.

Over the course of approximately two years, Hudson will implement a broad scope of improvements in these properties, including new roofs, repointing of masonry, new windows, and refreshed common spaces.
